TAI CHI

Classes & Private Sessions

Gain a deep understanding of Tai Chi in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Classes consist of basic exercises and learning the Yang style long form, which we layer week-by-week integrating the principles of internal Kung Fu. 

​

Most of the movements in class are based on Yang style Tai Chi and Xing Yi, and other internal/external systems of Kung Fu which I have practiced in China.  

 

Each class starts with the basic exercises layering each movement step-by-step with the emphasis on how to integrate tai chi theory of separation of muscle, skin, and bone into the movements.  The litmus test for these movements is that they should open the body and you should be able to demonstrate the use of internal strength.  We then start to work on the Yang style long form.  This is a choreographed sequence of movements that once you memorise becomes the focus.  This is where you learn to put the Tai Chi into the Tai chi, and use the movement to transform.
